Site Warnings!

BRIGHSTONE – Please AVOID BIRD ENCLOSURES at bottom of Brighstone Ridge.

RED CLIFFS – Please TURN LEFT when you leave the parking area on the south side of the Military Road.

CHILLERTON MAY 2019 UPDATE – After discussions with the farmer at Chillerton, our sites officer has established that for Spring 2019 we are able to fly the site at Chillerton. If there are sheep on the take-off please fly sensibly. They should move to the bottom of the hill, but please don’t panic them. As usual please don’t land in either of the big fields at the bottom.

ATHERFIELD UPDATE – March 2017 – Clearance work is going on in the grounds of the old holiday camp. Access is required  to the front gate by the site workers so please DO NOT park in front of the gates or obstruct the entrance. As before the Atherfield camp site is out of bounds.

ATHERFIELD UPDATE – September 2014 – The front gate to the camp site is now blocked for site safety issues. As access is not required and parking in the area is limited, you can park at the front entrance to the camp site provided it is blocked by a mound of earth. Follow the footpath through the camping site to the west of Atherfield camp site shown by the dotted marks on the site plan. Atherfield camp site is out of bounds.

WHITE CLIFFS LOWER TAKE-OFF
This take-off is CLOSED from 1st March – 15th July to avoid disturbing nesting Peregrines. Please ONLY use the UPPER take-off during this period. If you fly to the WEST of the highest point of the cliffs (roughly where the footpath intersects the main road), then you must be able to maintain at least 100 feet clearance from the top of the cliff to avoid disturbing Peregrines on their nest.
Do NOT overfly the Golf Course.
Do NOT rig or land on the Golf Course.
Do NOT cross the Golf Course on foot.
Do NOT fly if there is any possibility of landing on the beach when it is crowded.

CULVER TAKE-OFF
This take-off is CLOSED from 1st March – 15th July to avoid disturbing Peregrines and Ravens.

BRIGHSTONE/LIMERSTONE – Do not drive on the grass under any circumstances.

Published today, 5th October 2020, by CAA“The Department for Transport (DfT) has made available funding to encourage the adoption of Electronic Conspicuity (EC) within the UK’s General Aviation (GA) and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) communities. The CAA is distributing these funds via a rebate scheme. The scheme will open to applications from the 5 October 2020 until 31 March 2021 (or until the funding is used). Those meeting the requirements can claim a 50% rebate of the purchase cost of an EC device to a maximum of £250.00 (including VAT), per applicant.
